The Czech Technology Park is being developed by Technology Park Brno, a.s., a joint venture between the City of Brno and P&O Estates. The company has a formal co-operation agreement with the adjacent Brno University of Technology who are also a shareholder in the joint venture.

The City of Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic. Strategically located at the crossroads of the Central Europe the City has been an important centre of trade and industry for generations. With a long established tradition in engineering and electronics, the City of Brno has become a focus for new high-tech businesses drawn to the location by the highly qualified workforce coupled with low employment costs. Brno is the centre of universities and higher education institutions. It is also the seat of important bodies of justice such as the Czech High Court. Brno world renown exhibition centre site the BVV reinforces the City´s status as an important social and economic centre where a number of international fair, exhibitions and congresses take place. A main railway corridor provides connection to the European rail network and Brno´s international airport provides direct scheduled services to several international destinations.

P&O Estates’ focus is the acquisition; development and management of Grade A office buildings, business parks and retail developments in Europe. As both part of the P&O Group and Dubai World, P&O Estates has developed over 2.3 million m2 (25 million sq ft) of property. These projects include shopping centres, industrial estates, business parks, residential, city offices and major mixed use urban regeneration schemes throughout Europe and the US.

Founded in 1899, the Brno University of Technology, BUT, has excellent faculties for architecture, electrical engineering and communication, chemistry, information technology, business and management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, fine arts plus offer the education of three college institutes: Institute for forensic engineering, centre of sport activities, central european institute of technology CEITEC and ensures a highly qualified graduate workforce. The university has 24,000 students and 2,700 staff. The BUT regularly undertakes project work with commercial applications in collaboration with a range of companies and is actively pursuing further research links with quality foreign and domestic organisations and welcomes opportunities to foster collaboration.
