BKR ČR, s.r.o. (VELUX)
The story of VELUX began in 1941 when Villum Kann Rasmussen first noticed an opportunity to develop cheap and useful living spaces under sloping roofs. He developed the first roof window and gave it a name that was easy to pronounce and easy to remember: VELUX.
There followed many developments in the world of roof windows and sun tunnels, lining, shading and decorations. VELUX conquered all important markets in the world where houses with sloping roofs and attics are built.
VELUX is composed of two words: ventilation and lux (Latin for light).
VELUX is also the name of a group of manufacturing plants situated in 11 countries worldwide with sales agencies in more than 35 countries. The group employs around 10,000 people of which 3,000 work in Denmark, in Horsholm north of Copenhagen where the company is headquartered. VELUX is one of the strongest brands on the global market of building materials and products with this logo are sold all around the world.
